Safety during Dismissal
  
The goal of our entire school is to have a safe dismissal each day.  To insure the safety of all of our students, parents, faculty and staff, please help us out with a SAFE dismissal.

The following plan is in place at this time, but is subject to change.  A note regarding dismissal was sent home on Friday, Sept. 11, 2009. 

Recently, the limited parking signs were removed and replaced with NO PARKING or STANDING signs.  Please obey these signs. 

Kindergarten will dismiss from the outside, end wing of the Kindergarten classrooms.  Kindergarten parents can park in the High School Parking Lot and then walk up to the Elementary School or drive through the front drive.  Especially during inclement weather, you will need to drive through the front driveway for safety purposes.

Car Riders Dismissal:  All car riders will be dismissed from the front entrance.  The back parking lot is for Bus and Walker Dismissal only.  Parents please form two (2) lanes of cars in the driveway in front of the school building.  Drive down as far as you can.  There are some large white lines indicating where the best place would be to stop.  Stay with your car! This is the law!   Your child will be directed to you.  When about a total of 12-16 cars are loaded, the line will be moved on toward the street.  During high peak times (7:30 - 8:15 a.m. and 2:45 - 3:15 p.m.) exit from the driveway by making a RIGHT TURN ONLY!  If you choose to park in the High School parking lot, you can pick your child up at the front of the building and walk them back down to the High School parking lot.  PLEASE refrain from walking in the driveway.  By following these procedures, everyone will be safe.

Walkers:  Dismissal for walkers will be as soon as the buses have left the school property.  The students who are walkers will be dismissed from the covered area by the Cafeteria. Please use the sidewalks and the Crossing Guard to safely make your way home.

Bus Riders: Dismissal for the bus riders will occur as soon as all the buses are present and safely loaded.  Bus riders will exit the building from the covered area.  All students are expected to load the school buses in a safe and orderly manner!
